Cleaning foam rod handles

Post by balou »

Just wondering if anyone got any secret tricks to cleaning the foam grip. Most of my rods have white stains for dirty baity hands. I usually soap them down on every trip but starting to look old and tired.

Metho works well.

I'd do little test with the acetone before going overbaord, I think you'll find it will chew up your grips.

Hey fellas,if your grips are looking and feeling like cr.p(covered in them pilchard scales) you can use a coarse grade sandpaper to ruff them up,just tape up the blank and reel seat to stop any unwanted scratches and they will look and feel brand new !
