Good evening everyone.
I recently purchased a boat that I have been ripping all the floor out to see how it looks like underneath.
I had to do a big clean up and found out that the floor was filled partially with big foam block which look really old and dirty(please find attached picture). And the rest of the floor was filled with pool noodles.
So I was wondering what could be the best option if I want to replace those big old foam block.
Is pool noodles a good option or i should stay away from it?
I want to do that properly and keep my boat afloat incase any problem happen.
I am after any advice that could guide me in the right direction.
Thanks in advance.

Re: MARINE BUOYANCY FOAM
The foam that looks like pool noodles probably isn't pool noodles. There was a manufacturer (cant remember their name sorry) producing cylindrical buoyancy foam called bouya foam from memory which people mistook for pool noodles. It was a fuel resistant foam. If you were to soak a standard pool noodle in fuel it will melt. Easy way to check if yours is pool noodles though, but I wouldn't be using it as floatation.
Try one of the boat builders in town and see if you can buy from them

Thanks for your advice so far.
Ill keep asking around to find the right foam to put in it.
Johnno the boat was definitely half filled with pool noodles, they are not the fuel resistant you are talking about.

Try NT Foam and Rubber. They have the fuel resistant sheets of foam.

Re: MARINE BUOYANCY FOAM
Good morning guys
just a quick update, I got all the foam needed from a boat builder in Winnellie. I bought some off cut at a discounted price.
If that can help someone else.
Thanks for trying to help me out.
