Shouldn’t be any problem just do the inaugural start up of the Tim Flannery desalination plant!

Assuming the science is right it is obvious this thing will run its course. For example, Australia, is pumping out record emissions despite all the waffle about meeting targets.

The USA will be pumping record emissions under Trump.

Australia's latest status ... https://www.theguardian.com/australia-n ... cord-highs

World CO2 forcing is currently near the equivalent of 500ppm CO2 when all manmade greenhouse gases are added, that is acknowledged by NOAA.

A recent study suggests the added CO2 will last in the air for centuries, if not thousands of years. So our kid's kids are going to be living in a very different world if current temp increases and ice losses continue or accelerate.

Soylent Green burgers in 100 years, unless Greenland and Siberia etc turn into useful farmland :D

We're only talking here about energy's supposed contributions and look at the mess we're all in with disruption, arguments and mess. Bottom line is that cost of living has been adversely affected.

There are 2 more sectors that have been identified by the UN as areas needing to reduce emissions and these two haven't even been addressed by Govt's emission legislation.

Energy argument has put electricity prices through the roof.

Does anybody think for 1 minute that Govt introducing emissions legislation in the transport and agriculture sectors isn't going to increases costs in those areas as well?

The angst and division that's been generated to date is but the tip of the iceberg in what's yet to come.

Electorate wanted to get rid of the Paris accord and the first step was getting rid of Malcolm. Then a LNP govt under a new leader would get rid of Paris.

The "new" govt thinks that their energy policy needs only to be tinkered with so people wont leave the LNP. That the reason people want to leave is because of the mess caused in changing leaders.

Too late. They've already left and Govt can't see it.

It'll take a massive policy change to get those voters back.

The LNP is headed for certain defeat if nothing changes and that policy change needs to be massive as there isn't much time.

Dumping Paris would see an immediate 10% surge in Govt current stocks.

The Exxon doc is an interesting read especially as it was written in 1982.

More interestingly is that some of the evidence was written from 1968-71. Credited at the end of the document.

The mind boggles about what was known then and how far the world has not come since.

That's one hell of a new perspective to me and somewhat daunting.

Could explain the mangrove dieback in the Gulf of Carpentaria at the time!
