I have seen two 135's being caught........one caught at Little Moyle and one caught at Fog Bay rock..........Theres a picture in Fishing and outdoor world of Marks 150 from Port Keats and then there was Gary Walshes 160cm from the Roper about 15 years ago the picture of that one was in the NT news at the time......My PB is 118 from the Vic.

I can deal with 130's, but I've never seen a 140cm+ barra measured in a picture before!!

If you caught a 140 or bigger youd be up for a world record...!
Ive heard stories of that size caught on rod... But im guessing its all BS otherwise they would get themselves a record....
& who wouldnt want to hold the world record for biggest bazza...?

If caught in a net by commercial-fisherman then i guess its no record...??

Im sure theres some monsters out there we dont know about or found.....

Ive seen 135's. Never seen a 140 against a measure. Have seen 2 photo's of fish that could possibly be. One from the Roper from a indigenous lad that was nearly as big as he was. How old the bloke was and tall he was is any body's guess (Photo was a bit faded). If he was of average height I think it was 140. The one Shaggs posted a while ago from the pro was a big fish but it wasn't against a measure (from memory) so not convinced it was 140 (had its neck cut and extended makes them look bigger) but could of been. As for 150's well seeing would be believing..

The Daly may very well produce a couple big girls in about 5 years I reckon. The amount of 120's being caught has increased dramatically on that river over recent times. The pros have been out for a long time now and improvements in gear are making it possible to land some of the truly big fish that are being hooked. The amount of food is also crazy in the river.

Hemi- to claim a world record you have to be a member of a fishing club I believe (could be wrong) so don't think most amatures are.

The aust record fish I mentioned was listed as being caught at point Stuart, so no gold fish.
Of course to be eligible for that record it would need to be caught on IGFA rated line and comply with all the rest of their requirements like leader and lure dimensions and design aswell as capture technique.

Nothing like a pic to put things into perspective. This one I'm sure I've posted some time back, a scan from a slide so quality is down a bit. Girth was well over a metre
