Lake Alexander ? :? Unlikely that you're allowed to fish in there at all cuddles ?

Try out at the sandbar towards the mouth of buffalo ck or even the beach near the start of East point well before peewees near the lights along the bike path at night this should fill your bucket with 8 or so in no time with a few decent throws mate, bulk sardines can be jigged at stokes hill at night too on sabiki rigs earlier in the year .... but make sure you have a good aerator to keep them alive on their drive to far better areas to send them out for a bit of a swim for a million dollar barra. :fishing:

Also I'd suggest that you don't waste them all on solid snags  , huge stinkin c#tties  , big sharks  and just undersized barra :| or tiny rock cod :bonk: like when I've tried them out myself a few times over the years around the usual city dangler prime areas.

Rapid Creek sometimes produces well. Park near the footbridge and walk up the path or drive if the council leave the bollards out. There's a few spots you can climb down to the water and have a flick for Barra while your there.

Nighcliff jetty either side of high tide for small herring (as long as it's relatively calm, if too much chop they wont be there)
Go down stairs and throw under the jetty, but beware the snags (eg shopping trolleys) at the bottom and barnacles on the sides, these will permanently own your net.
If the school is close enough you can just throw over the side.
You can also use a sabiki rig there and this is useful if the bait school is loitering just out of reach of your net near the rocks.
The local macks & queenies love them!
