I used to ride out and fish in the howard river/shoal bay/gunn pt area, google maps show up the tracks and obvious spots to fish.
Good luck, it's great out tthere.

Yes, the back of Shoal Bay and even behind the dump were good places, the old mortar range was prime!
And there were tracks into Meckit and King Creeks, you could get a permit to enter.
They were the good ol' days! A lot of fences have gone up since. The old Noogoo (nugu??) swamp is now the rifle range land.
Used to ride out there with the tackle box and rod strapped on the back.
A tip - Never use a cast net under the back tyre to get out of a bog, it is hell getting the net out of the sprockets ...

Ride to the end of the little Howard (spot 6) its better with bigger tides. There are a few other little spots around there as well, you have ride over a large mud flat, not recommended in a car but a bike is fine.

Does it matter whether it's dry season or wet ?
