Nomad, you might have just missed your gig, Mardi gras seems to have a lot of shirtless people driving funny looking vehicles some even could be considered tractors..

No offence, No really, no offence

Rug wrote:Tractor man is a top bloke if you get to know him. If you don't like the price, dont use it. Given the operating environment his gear works in and the up keep of it, $20 is more than fair.
I got nothing against old mate driving the tractor Rug, and i dont use his service i launch myself much to his discust. I think whether he's friendly or not has nothing to do with the price though, especially when he wont even get off the bl..dy tractor to help people get boats on trailers. Regardless off the damage being done. :|

Yeah, hes a real public relations coo for the lodge

I've never seen someone with so much patience and a willingness to help people in such a friendly and easygoing way!

P.S; DONT forget to connect your safety chain, unlike a certain blue guide boat! :lolpoint:

No worries. I would have gone but it was too far for the weekend

I remember watching a news brief about the Mardi Gras a while ago and one of the boys dressed in tight gold shorts (you know, like the ones you secretly wear) and he pranced up to the camera and said “HI MUM, GUESS WHAT, YOUR SON’S A POOF’
Geez I laughed

Here's a thought

Post by grumpy »

I use the tractor regardless of the price and the Mr Personality that drives it simply because it is easier in the long run. :lolpoint:

For many years I used to launch and retrieve myself and often would get bogged and have to winch out. No big deal just a pi... off at the end of a big day. :bs:

How is this for a thought. IF THE RAMP WAS KEPT CLEAN OF SAND MOST PEOPLE COULD LAUNCH AND RETRIEVE their own boat %80 OF THE TIME. It's not kept clean as a conspiracy to make people use the tractor.
A mans boat is a sign of his strengths and weaknesses???? (and wealth)

Halikos Group tried to buy the lodge when it was for sale, they even offered more than what the new bloke got it for :o

Had they have got it the ramp would be fixed and with more break walls plus a resort would have been built in less than 3 months!! Therefore the road would have to be sealed quickly due to tourist buses pumping in, at the moment it looks like a miners camp with all the second hand dongas scattered around.

Anyone know if the lodge owns the tractor?
