Howard Rock bar 11/7

Post by zulks »

With all the bottom bouncing I been doing needed a barra fix, no coin to put fuel in boat for a bigger trip decided on a land based sesh at the rock bar.
Arrived around 2pm with the main rock bar occupied walked in to another spot and started flicking rubbers. Quite for the first hour then managed to drop a rat, got nailed again next cast and dropped a legal fish on the first jump, went quite again for bout another hour, had chopped and changed rubbers that many times was nearly over it when a big school of popeye mullet cruised past nervously, so on with a fizzer and was rewarded immediatly as a big fish boofed it on the opposite bank on to miss the lure, cast straight back to the same spot, two jerks and boof again, missed again. After a couple more casts I was cursing myself thinking I missed my oppurtunity, but luck was on myside got boofed in the middle of the creek and this time hooked well. After a short but spirited fight landed a nice 62cm baz, not having any barra in the freezer had to throw this one on ice. Back into the fishing tide was starting to push and there was quite a bit of mullet cruising around, bout another half hour of casting and my fizzer got boofed again only to miss aswell, flick flick flick boof again another hook up a fish about the same size launched into the air, this fish put up a hell of a fight peeling me up and down the creek and spat the fizzer on about the fifth jump, damn I thought might have been a up grade. Fish went quite after that must have kept moving up with the bait but still had a good sesh could have been better if my timing was a bit better with the fizzer. :drinking1:

Hi Zulks,

Nice one.
Any land based Barra is a god one to me: I haven't got one land based in more than two year...
:banghead:
And on a fizzer, it is like icing on the cake...
Well done!

Have a good day,
Pecheur
