Still raining ....

Woolianna road has fallen in at the Daly, helluva wet season.

Plenty of fish being caught elsewhere.

For the record, this was the Mary River system at the end of March - including Corroboree, Hardies etc.

And here's the Daly at the same time as the Mary picture above, zooming in it almost looks like a new river channel being carved out.

Clear Creek might be the place to be :catch:

The 2026 wet season according to BOM: "Rainfall totals during the northern wet season (October to April) were above to very much above average across the Northern Territory, including the highest on record for parts of the Katherine and Daly River catchments in the Top End. The Northern Territory's area-averaged rainfall total during the northern wet season was 793.2 mm, 56% above the 1961–1990 average, the seventh-wettest on record for all northern wet seasons since 1900–01. Several sites had their highest northern wet season daily rainfall on record. Many sites had their highest total northern wet season rainfall on record."

Google has a different take: "The 2025/26 Top End wet season was the 4th-wettest on record, with Darwin receiving 2397.4mm of rainfall, significantly above the average of 1691.7mm. This season experienced above-average rainfall for six consecutive months, influenced by slow-moving tropical lows and cyclones, particularly Severe Tropical Cyclone Narelle."

Talking to locals, most of the flood run-off cleared as quickly as usual. There will be a steady flow of greenwater in the bigger rivers for a while.

Will be interesting to see how the Top End bluewater year shapes up!

Great runoff year! Even Magella has dropped right out now though, under 400mm
