I have combined the comps into one this year, making it more accessible and interesting. Once again, free to enter.
RULES
Comp is called FFF Fotofish 2026 and judged primarily on photos (see below). However, to be eligible for a prize, each entrant must post a brag mat and captor shot of a 75cm or bigger barramundi any time before the end of the comp in December.
Photos must relate to fishing and have a point of interest. A dull snap of mangroves, or a mudbank, or your tackle box, won't cut it, but a fish pic or a pic of you or a mate fixing a busted boat trailer on a corrugated road, or wildlife, or scenery, or action shot, would be fine, for example.
DETAILS
1. One point per photo. Action fishing shots (jumps/headshakes/surface hookups) get five points. Action shots must be more than just a splash or a swirl. Each photo or series of photos from a trip must have a short caption.
2. Repetitious shots of similar subjects won't get points, but captor shots of different fish caught during a trip are OK.
3. AI or deceptively Photoshopped images trigger entrant's disqualification.
4. Photos must be taken this year. Comp ends December 20, 2026. Photos must be time-stamped in the file (this is usually automatic, doesn't have to be a visible timestamp on pic). Facebook etc remove EXIF data, so don't copy photos off your FB/Insta feed.
5. Pix can be from around Australia, but each entrant must post a 75cm or bigger barramundi brag mat photo during the year to be eligible for prizes. The barra must be caught by the entrant, with a second photo of the entrant holding the fish on location, with captor's face clearly visible.
6. There will be some subjective judgement about what photos can win points. Judge's decision on photos and winners is final.
7. Prizes will be sent to winners after the comp ends, usually in Jan/Feb. Prizes are not redeemable for cash.
8. It's a free event. By entering you agree to keep it fun and not hold the organiser liable in any way.
9. Entrants agree to provide ID if requested (unlikely to happen). Non-compliance triggers disqualification.
10. The organiser reserves the right to discontinue the competition and cancel all prizes if there are not more than 10 active entrants by June 30.
11. Pix submitted may be used on occasion on social media such as FB and Insta to promote this comp.
TIP: Make sure your photos are pointing up by opening them in a photo editor and saving them. Pictures taken with the phone sideways may not display on here correctly. (I'll fix any already posted when I get time).
