Fishing Upper Finniss River?

Post by jpb15 »

Hello All,
I am planning a Fish on The Upper Finniss, around Australia Day.
Putting the Boat in at Hardcastle Rd Boat Ramp.
I have never fished there before, is there anything that I should be concerned about.
There is not much information around, about Fishing this area.

If there's been rain then the road will be underwater, there's a dip just before the ramp that runs all wet

Heading upstream from the ramp there are some runoff creeks and rocky areas

Yep that dip might be a show stopper. Have a backup plan if its flowing.

Ring sandpalms or 2 jays for the latest info on it. Be prepared to have to bail out and fish bynoe instead though. Small boats (3.7m cartoppers ) can actually launch at the road before the dip but its a bit of a mission getting back up it to load up again and super dangerous in the dark as it's full of logs and has a pretty substantial sized croc that owns it.
