From a mate: "Camped out at Red Lilly last Monday to Wednesday. The road in is in the worst state of repair I’ve ever seen ... hasn’t been maintained for gawd knows how long, severe washouts and erosion.
"Numerous trees across the road have been left there so the track just goes around them. Even the sign on the Arnhem Highway is gone.
"But again, so much for Kakadu being closed and Red Lilly only opening last weekend, the road was well used and deep wheel ruts in what were wet areas clearly shows people were going in during the wet and soon after."
