Spur of the moment decision to go for a land-based flick at Channel Island. Saw something chasing bait fish in the shallows and flicked a silver Samaki Flash Minnow in the direction. Slight bump then the line tightened and away we went. A few jumps and runs before a 74cm got dragged up the shore....

Not one of my best efforts but only got one trip in this month for a bunch of rats. But to keep up my objective of entering a Barra each month this will have to do, a 48 out of the harbour.

I've got a question for all of you territorians... Us Queenslanders lose the ability to target saltwater barras on midday November 1. Does anyone agree to having one more billabong/dam round to level the playing field?

Yeah could do but they're in with the barra. Fisheries over here get pretty uppity if you're sitting in schooled up barras over the close. Not having a whinge at all just asking.

Chasing threadies up this way i reckon it's 3 barras to 1 thready.

I understand that Barra are a by catch at that time of year and i know that you're not having a whinge.
But can you keep the barra in water when you dehooking them without getting in the poo with the fisheries?
I have no problem for you blokes to have another Dam round.

Yeah it's funny I hadn't actually thought about the logistics until tonight. Just assumed that there were dam rounds over our close. Didn't take notice that these rounds were dam rounds.

In the end I'll still probably go and target "Threadies. But no, ruling over here now is that if you are in a known aggregation area throwing lures you get warned and then fined. I've never been warned but after this post it's public that I know better :D

FFF Seadogs 2018 - Round 7 - Billabong, Dam and Salty Barra - results attached.

Let me know any required amendments asap.

Was a fairly quiet round compared with preceding months.

Re adding an extra dam round, I can do that next year.
