Wednesday the 28th I ducked out to Bynoe to fish the bottom of the the 1.47 metre tide. With the stormy weather during the night and early morning my deckle piked out and it turned into a solo trip.
The track into Keswick was wet and made for a very slow trip, although there were no real issues with a bit of care over a number of small washouts on the main dirt road.
On arrival to Keswick the storms had passed and it was calm between passing squalls.
I wandered around for a bit and ended up an inlet to get away from a small storm, there were small fish chasing jelly prawns along the bank and while they were easily spooked, switching off the motor and drifting along the bank in about a metre of water seemed to work.
Casting a small soft plastics resulted in a couple of small bream and trevally.
At the start of the incoming the barra came on and I managed to land 3 around 65cm
and a nice salmon.
I ended up leaving while they were still biting as the wind was coming up making for a choppy ride home and a mongrel time recovering the boat solo with a following sea.
All up a worthwhile trip, the weather was cool and only a couple of passing storms to keep me on my toes.
Cheers and have a great New Year.
