I have a Techni Ice, very thick walls and lid, keeps ice long time.

Don't really need it down here, just put the beer in the water and it gets nice and cold ...

If you want maximum efficiency use a fibreglass esky. Will keep ice up to seven days with minimum opening even up in Darwin. BUT they can be a little fragile. The better poly alternative in my opinion is Tropical Ice boxes..thick walls and lid (does not dent when sat upon) and good insulation.

Spend the extra coin and get a YETTI, rota moulded built like a brick sh@t house. Poly ones are good but tend to absorb heat, Fiberglass are awesome and reflect heat but take a bit of looking after(not so good for the back of the ute) I have owned fiberglass and a few blue poly(everkool) ones and although they are good, the casing tends to warp and seperate from the foam after a while.
Have a look at the Yetti and compare the weight difference with a poly one. Isulation is the key so look for thick walls and a lid you can jump up and down on!!
If you are only using it now and then, well it doesnt really matter what you get, but it you are relying on it for weeks on end and going to give it flogging then go a rotomolded.

Have just ordered a signature series Techniice off ebay. Claims to outperform polyethylene and fibre glass ice boxes. 7cm walls. Decent price. I will see how it goes.

I got one of those boxes a couple months ago, awesome coolers :applause:

I've had evacool glass boxes and the rotomoulded ones from the same co. and can honestly say these Techni ice boxes are the go, imo they hold ice as long or longer than anything else

I use mine in the boat as a rear casting platform and seat, very tough
