Point Stuart questions

Post by Mud »

I've never been to Point Stuart but on Google Earth it looks like there is a boatramp there...near Stuarts Tree Historical Reserve

Can anyone tell me...is this a public ramp?

Can you just drive out there?

if the ramp is usable what sort of tide height do you need?

Is it a beach launch?

Thanks in advance

You might not be able to get there now, but it's private ramp you need about a 4.5 to launch as there are heaps of rocks. Its the quickest ramp to wildman. They normally close up for the wet however this may have changed! The ramp itself doesn't have much protection so it can get waves on the ramp. Can't remember how much it cost, think it was about $50.

I think the number is in matts book.

I stayed there about 3 years ago in the build up and it was a nice place - it dosnt open to about June each year? If you are camping there or staying in their rooms it's free to use the ramp.

I have stayed there a few times as I knew the people who had it out there. As for the ramp it is very open and you will get smashed if the wind is blowing in. The cabins that he has there are small but they are nice and tidy.

They are lovely people who have the place, and the road isn't to bad on the way out.
