Hey guys/girls just a heads up was out shoal bay thursday and ipilot function on minkota was playing up, minkota worked fine to all intents with steering speed etc via remote issue came when trying to use ipilot on cruise control did not work and when trying anchor unit basically did 540deg turn - tried a few times and went both clock and anticlockwise, then just shut down.
any unplugged anderson plugs which were a bit green, quick scrub and everything was fine, figured high current function just blasted across poor connection but low current ipilot gps etc did not draw the current to blast across geen connections
outcome will clean up all connections and coat with lanolin spray to make poor connections less likely

Yep, as good as they are, the old anderson will wear out.
Ive just replaced a heap of them in my boats..

Remember you can buy from jaycar etc...
Covers and T-bars...
Well worth it, cheap as chips
The cover saves it heaps during wash down, the T-bar makes connecting/unconnecting so much easier and i reckon less wear.

Right with you guys. Anderson plugs, t-bar, lanolin spray and cap = working minn kota. I installed an inline 60amp circuit breaker Which saves the motor overheating. it will save you $$$ in the long run to have it set up right. Mine works a treat... I call it "the marriage saver" for those that take out the misses. Ie no more chucking the ancor out required!
