Dundee Beach
I haven't been to Dundee this year but am heading for an overnighter Saturday night.
What times do the tractors operate on the weekends
Where can I park my car if I am overnighting in the boat.
cheers

Re: Dundee Beach
im planning on doing much the same.
tractors start at around 6:00am to 6:00pm
you park your car on the grass next to the lodge. (with everyone else)
$35.00 to launch now.
any thoughts on the wind for this weekend.
i hope its glass, but doesnt appear to be going by predicters (BOM - Willy - Windyty)

Re: Dundee Beach
Mate, I would strongly suggest launching and retrieving yourself on the high tide if it's an option. We have had a lot of issues with the Dundee Lodge tractor service of late. It is a public ramp so there is no reason you can't.

Re: Dundee Beach
Do they still shut down for a couple of hours during the day time or is it open all the way from 6 till 6.
Bit of variation in the predictions between the various services so I am hoping for some nice calm weather.
Fishing Long Lost and overnighting near Pt Blaze Saturday night.

Re: Dundee Beach
from what i can tell they only shut in the middle of the day if the tide gets too low.
ill be in the old blue and white half cab (old dog)
normally scanning all channels but generally talk poop on channel 69
im planning sailcity area saturday - then Peron island jew ledge overnight.
back to sail city for sunday.
hopefully the tuna show up this weekend as they were hard to find 2 weeks ago but plenty of Macks.

Re: Dundee Beach
Last time I was there, a couple of months ago, they didn't open/launch before 0700 and they won't launch or retrieve below 1.2M tide. Admittedly it was mid week, but I called first and asked all the questions which saved alot of grief (was going to get there before 0600). They didn't let you know if you didn't ask the right questions.

Re: Dundee Beach
Hi guys, thanks for the input. I know its a pain launching from Dundee but there aren't too many other options for getting out that way.
Jakedafish it is just over 60km Dundee to the tip of North Peron via Sail City.

Re: Dundee Beach
Double that if it blows up more than 15-20kts. I have learnt that from experience:)

Re: Dundee Beach
It's stilll a good trip but the launch thing does sound like it is getting a bi over the top. It's a set up that was getting very ho hum for me at the end run around the same spots same fish actually pretty predictable etc and my expectations getting higher each trip many times going remoter and remoter but I suggest a downturn in the numbers is hard to argue. It is a pretty big trip overnight or a couple of nights that takes some getting ready and some cleaning up after but to be honest I do miss it a bit now. Plus met some characters and a good mate or two.
