Corroboree 21-22 June
A few of us had a houseboat last weekend, we took a couple of tinnies with us. We'd been a month earlier and had caught stacks of tarpon and saratoga on z-man frogs and sammys. We only got one barra on that trip. This time around, even the saratoga were relatively quiet- we got about 10. We fished into the night, but if anything the fish were less active at night. Not a barra to speak of, and I don't think anyone out there had much success. It's my last trip to Corroboree this year, I reckon! It has been pretty average for barra for a couple of years now.

Re: Corroboree 21-22 June
We had a little outing with the PGFC on sunday. Out of 11boats only about 8 toga were caught and 6 barra which all came from the rockhole (where the hill starts there is a stretch of ribbon weed) and only one of those barra was legal at 56cm. Same time last year we were getting plenty of barra out of the rockhole on the cast with the odd toga and tarpon thrown in for good measure. Pretty slow going and I don't see it improving anytime soon. (hopefully it does though)
It has always been my private conviction that any man who pits his intelligence against a fish and loses has it coming.
Give a man a fish, and he can eat for a day. But teach a man how to fish, and he'll be dead of mercury poisoning inside of three years.
“Fishing, with me, has always been an excuse to drink in the daytime”
"Soon after I embraced the sport of angling I became convinced that I should never be able to enjoy it if I had to rely on the cooperation of the fish."
