Ernie Melv Gibbo if you guys can get the boss to give you an arvo off, and anybody else else who is up to the challenege. GOLF GAME is on, name the Sat arvo (before full on run off) and we can discuss the finer points of fishing and points of interest.

Could be a good arvo?

I can't believe what AFANT proposes.

When did the Amateur Fishing Assoc become the plastics only fishing assoc.

Isn't catching cherabin just another form of fishing.

In my opinion the easiest way to restrict Barra numbers being taken now, is make the size limitations between 60 cm - 90 cm. Probably only a 3 year window of opertunity in the life of the barra to be taken for the table.

As far as the restrictions of 1 net per person and a limit 10 cherabin per person. I challenge 99 % of the population to actally catch 10 cherapin with 1 net in a 24 hour period.

When NT fisheries were asked to provide as much information as possible on Cherabin to the working group the result of their research was "little to nothing is known about cherabin" with such scant knowledge cautious managment must be implemented. It appears that controls are required at the Daly and probably elsewhere.

Have your say, write to fisheries its a bit like voting, if you don't you can't whinge about the result.

This thread is worth a re-visit given the new controls to conserve cherabin stocks in the Daly river, seems some experts where ill informed.

Sharks n powertails Mmm Mmm Mmm
good call with the restriction when they are on you will still get a good feed and the hard fished areas might be in with a chance otherwise your great grandkids might never even catch one
Tight lines 'n' keep the shiny side up people.
