FFF COMPETITION IDEAS 2011.

Post by Dingo »

Righto, I am about sick of getting on here and reading about anything but fishing reports. I am starting to think is this a site for Computer Nerds not Fisherman. As if people are going fishing they are not telling anyone about it.

This is site is about fishing and getting together to fish and have a few yarns and beers.

I know if you are organising fishing Comps you have to worry about insurances, liabilty, bla, bla, bla.

They have the big Comps in the NT, Kakadu Klash, the classic and the Nationals, surely there is enough fishos on here to get a bit of our own comp going during the run off somewhere.

Prob a weekend at the south late March, early April (Kakadu Klash is on the 17 - 19) Daly and Shady already have enough people on the rivers. Stay at Aurora and you can fish the South or the East (If you can get to it)

Nothing serious, just a good old fashioned get together (an unofficial comp) that revolves around the run off.

Anyway, put your name up on here if you would be interested in getting a team together and I will look into what the cost would be to organise a room for a team, dinner and shirt :o

Or if anyone else has any ideas, post them up here.

Other options: Finniss out of Dundee, Daly out of the Banyan Farm,

If we get some interest I will get something happening. If not I won't, pretty simple really. :D

Good idea dingo, they have the inaugural brickies bash out bynoe every year in the dry and its a blast.
More of a big p..s up for Darwin construction mob though others go as well. :drinking2: :drinking3: :drinking1: :drinking5: :drinking8:
It's a ripper and would be good for something similar to be organised for FFF.
Something along the same lines would be good and well received I would think. 8) :applause:
I would be interested in helping to organise something like that!

Finniss, south, east, daly all sound good

I'm keen on the Dundee idea that way everyone has an option, Blue water or The Finniss. The old man also has a beach house on Mermaid Circut that can accomodate people only a few beds but shyte loads of room for swags ect. Even the dongas down at the lodge are fairly priced. :)
It has always been my private conviction that any man who pits his intelligence against a fish and loses has it coming.

Give a man a fish, and he can eat for a day. But teach a man how to fish, and he'll be dead of mercury poisoning inside of three years.

“Fishing, with me, has always been an excuse to drink in the daytime”

"Soon after I embraced the sport of angling I became convinced that I should never be able to enjoy it if I had to rely on the cooperation of the fish."

Sounds like a plan. Dundee looks like the best option to accomodate everyones needs.

Will be good to actually meet some of the people we chat with on here. Oh and drink lots of sherbets with also.
Fishing is a passion only fishermen understand.
