New Boat! Almost!!!

Post by bushie »

I've told the wife but all I got was 'that's nice dear'! No one to share my excitement with!
The new GS Marine Extreme 4.8 with 115 Suzi is underway! Money paid and I can't wait for delivery! It should be ready in time for the Barra Nats, pick it up a couple of days before hand and then off to the Daly for 10 days fishing! Got to share the good news with someone!
I'll be posting pics as soon as I get it.

That will be ace, the 115 will make it fly. Did you go centre or side console.

I took mine for its maiden voyage today, I could not have been happier.

hey bushie
nice choice i had a 480 with a 115 on it also sold it last year have upgraded to a bigger boat i should have kept the gs as well as the big boat oh well its gone now
yes they are quick with a 115
top speed i got out of mine was 82kl/h with a 23 pitch s/s prop the only problem with aa 23 is it was to fast at troll for barra even a 21 was a bit fast as well a 19 is too small it revs out to quick
depends on what you are going to use it for i guess i liked the top speed

Thanks for the comments everyone. Slapper1, I know you and your old boat, we met at the Barra Nats and the Palmo fishing club a couple of times. I used to watch your boat go flying past and tell myself I'm gunna have one if them one day!

i seen an interesting boat yesterday at one of the marine dealerhips in town
while we are on the subject of small boats and big motors
i dont know if anyone knows the boat MAD MULLET it used to belong to pete davies of 104.9 fm a white 4.6m TABS barra style boat simular to the 4.8 xtreme by GS
anyway it has now been painted all black looks a treat the front cast deck has been modified it looks a million $$$$$$$
the guy who bought it has fitted a 150hp super charged verado to it how insane is that this thing should have wings on it
my guess it will do in excess of 50knts if he can keep it in the water
i dont have any pic of it as soon as i do i will post them

that'll be a bl..dy fast boat! I thought it was quick in 'mad mullet' guise!

Rumour has it that my boat has left the spray booth and ready for final fit out. Come on!!!!!

That's the plan Slapper, if it all comes together. Be a bit different from my first nationals attempt with a 4.35 stacer and 40hp honda! I must have got passed by all 42 boats on the way back to the fuel pontoon every arvo.
