Re: Fotofish 2022 - all entries on this thread
After a week of drinking and site seeing with our Melbourne friend we headed out to SWA for a fish. They just managed to get a few small goldie & blue salmon a bit of fun and this 72cm jewie.

Re: Fotofish 2022 - all entries on this thread
As well as having friends here from Melbourne, we also had family up from Brisbane at the same time. I took the family to SWA on Saterday not realising it was the TEBs round and had to park half a km up the road. We didn't manage any big fish but we got a nice mixed bag of goldies, cod, salmon & small jewies.

Dropped the pots in overnight and got a few nice ones with most of them between 19 - 20cm.

Re: Fotofish 2022 - all entries on this thread
I now have my son & his girlfriend up from Albury and we headed out to SWA. The tides were very neap and the pickers were out to play. I managed this 42cm goldie but apart from that it was just small stuff. It was just great to be able to spend the arvo on the water with my son after not seeing him for 18 months.

Did a solo night run last night in East arm for 6 hours. Water temp just a smidge under 30 degrees. Managed to hook 9, land 4 and a Goldie. Other 5 Barra were lost trying to net solo.
Will be doing trip this Sunday in harbour will post update.
Cheers

Some great fish. Also, pictures are very clear these day, phones getting better. I see 50 megapixel phone cameras are quite common now.
Wasn't that long ago when we were still arguing if digital would ever be better than film.

Calm weather today and plenty of Queenie's about in harbour. Found soft vibes were their undoing hooking three landing one.
Then decided to search the flats for Barra. Was slow going with only two rats.
Cheers Gibbsy

A few pics from 3 trips over last week. Took a mate to swa/Wiltshire's for first time. More of a exploratory trip. Marked a lot of fish with lockjaw. But my mate managed to find a willing one.
Monday night did a solo East arm trip which resulted in 5 for the night on poppers 3 being legal.
Wednesday did a run to my favourite arm in harbour. Wind in morning was a pain. Plenty of smaller stuff around. Missed a nice thready on the sight cast. Then finally managed a healthy 65 a bit after lunch. Picked the pots up at end of the day to deal with this bugger. Yes he was still very much alive and cranky. Did a number on the crab pot. Raced across the harbour late arvo to pull boat out just before nice storm hit. Oh a spotted this black and white critter on the flats, actually see them quite a bit anyone know what type of snake they are?
Cheers
