Re: Harrisons Dam, what a joke!
Turned right and headed down away from the wall, There was one hunter every 25 metres for the length of the reserve. Pellets landing everywhere around me from the mob on the other side blasting away like AAA guns. No thanks, I didnt find that much fun at all. No point in trying decoys there when the birds are that shot up, I would much rather find a quiet secluded area, which usually means a few kms walk with the gear, which is good for fitness too.
Shoal bay is very dry thou....
There are plenty of great places to hunt that could be opened up to the public, mary river, roper mouth, Finniss, top of the adelaide, bottom of the adelaide. Be better to have more places to go to spread the pressure out.

Turn left at the back fence and take your second right then anywhere along there when you hit the swamp about 400m doen seems to be the main path they are flying pretty conssitant ad not to many shooters. They are flying in and out till about 9! We only walked 100m from the cars as I had me mrs and 16month old son !

The channel you shot is always gonna be crowded when it's only 50m wide and a track either side of it!

Was on the west side of harrisons this arvo. Few geese in the middle but hardly any flying in/out, they just stick to the middle and go from group to group. Was there from 4 till dark and didn't put a shot off.

Maybe try the Botanical Gardens - that's where they seemed to be holed up at the moment.
Saturday and Sunday there were heaps flying around and judging by the amount of feathers on Gardens Oval they have found their safe spot for the moment.

SD89, if the 'stupid geese' are all in the middle with none flying around and you blokes are trying to get a shot at them, how does that make them stupid? Seems like a smart strategy to me.....
They're probably all huddled up watching you guys and having a good chuckle.

Just dont take a boat full of decoys Doug you might get em shot to bits.DOUG wrote:Time for me to throw the goose punt in and stir them up then
The big boat would get you out amongst them quicker plus you could carry enough troops to shoot back if neccessary.
