What's the scientific name for gold band snapper bear? I've heard about caught off Coral Bay but I don't really know what it is :|

Lutjanus johnii

Place to get 'em round here Jay is late summer down at the fingers (follow the 30 mt contour to north and just west of 40 mile). We call 'em Fingermark.
My fave fish are Trout, Black Spotted Tuskies (Bluebone), and believe it or not Giant threadfin Salmon.

Whoops you asked about Gold BANDED Snapper DOH!!! sorry

Flathead tails lightly dusted in Cajun spiced flour and pan-cooked quickly in a butter and olive oil blend. Mmmmmmmm
 there's something about cold water fish

don't mind a bit of shark either, or anything freshfor that matter (within reason), anything is better cooked fresh and shared with family/friends

actually pulled a couple of salty barra fillets out of the freezer on saturday night and shallow fried them with a light dust of flour and spices, then gave them a liberal coating of sundried tomato pesto and cooked each side for 3-4 mins

served with some sweet potato 'fries' baked in the oven and a nice garden salad....

one of the better feeds i have had this year.

mmmm....saltwater barra. hard to beat.
Cheers

and then you nod your head like your saying YES to every beat...
