would you mob install a ss deck filler in the floor of your boat, knowing it will get water over it from time to time?
it's risky I know - but I want to replace the sender unit head with a deck filler cap so I can check the fuel level manually.
see pic.
provided I seal the base in properly it should be ok right?

the metho particals bind with the water particals, making it combustable which helps pass it through the engine.nikoniko wrote:Does it help burn the water in the fuel off?
it's an old trick from ww2 and still used by Cops in remote locations who stash fuel for long periods of time.
Max - the fuel sender unit(electric one) doesnt give a good reading. So I'd rather replace it with a filler so I can dip a broom stick into it and do it manually. old school I know, but at least it will take some of the guess work and anxiety out of the equation if or when I forget to set the figures into the fuel flow panel on the gps.

plus, whats wrong with bit of sniff if your day is going so good.

Think its the reliability of the Lowrance Electronics thats mostly in question. Beasty is still saving for the quality stuff.

allow me to clarify - the sender unit is a sensotek branded thing that came with the boat and it's hooked up to a suzuki analoge guagedodgyone wrote: Think its the reliability of the Lowrance Electronics thats mostly in question. Beasty is still saving for the quality stuff.
