Landbased Jacks

Post by mariner_22 »

Went out this morning and got a couple of Jacks in Casino Creek. Also dropped a couple of barra on live mullet. First time I have caught a Jack and their reputation is well deserved both went very hard for that initial run awesome fun on light threadline gear!! First time I have fished down there and it produced very happy Easter camper.

Cheers

Francis

Nice work.

I live right near there but am yet to land anything decent from there. What did you get the Jacks on? Live mullet as well? Ive only tried flicking small lures and SPs. Had a few hits but nothing connected.

Great stuff.

Jacks are great fun to catch, I have been catching a few this year and they are quite addictive.

Great Work, good to be able to catch fish in the heart of a capital city.

doesnt matter what you use if there is a jack lurking about hes gonna smash whatever you present at it...heres one i got the last time i stopped off in Groote for the night. Cant catch barra's but jacks are a worthy substitute.

I managed to pick up a 44cm model from a rock wall not too long ago, he did the Mangrove Jacks reputation justice as he absolutely smashed my soft plastic and for his size pulled pretty hard, first Jack Ive caught in a long time to. I might target them more often now. Fresh fish for dinner that night

Man I love the Jacks. I haven't caught one since I lived on Croker Is. about 10 years. Great photos, thanks
