Hot water as hot as u can stand it will instantly stop the pain.I stepped on one 20years ago in port hacking in Sydney.It went straight through my acilies tendon we were an hour walk from the car then another 1 hrs to hospital.They immediately put my foot into a tub of hot water,bl..dy hot.The pain from the poison almost instantly stopped,as the water cooled down the pain slowly came back as soon as I took my foot out of the tub for them to refresh the water the pain came back.I went through this process 3-4 times.Apparently the poison is protein based and the hot hot water breaks it down.The worst thing was I sent 3 days in hospital having my acilies rejoined and by the time I got out my mates and family smashed the 2 bags of oysters we collected.
I reckon this would work the same on Powertail stings as I was done by one of them down the Roper it felt excactly the same
