Have seen blokes doing exactly that with a bow on the flats near the river murray knocking carp over too. I was slightly less sophisticated - used to blast em with a shotgun or .22 - one year we filled the old mans freezer with frozen carp for yabby bait - better than buying it.
We found a backwater about 5 metres wide and 150 metres long - walked along and shot them as they lay in the shallows. best trip there was 30 big carp!! :fishing: :fishing:

Cheers

mate of mine 28 od years ago used to get fish with bow and arrow, mainly rays in the shallows.

he shot a 40lb er at the daly crossnig accross the other side and up about 300m 8-)

would sit in atree over hanging the water for hours.

looked weired him walking back across the crossing carrying monster fish with only a bow and arrow.

he was useless at shooting pigs with a bow but, kept shooting under them allowing for the water refraction
