Someone elsewhere asked the question if they were going to put some rings in the concrete to tie off to. Good idea I thought and long as they are the lay-flat types.
If not, there are plenty of boulders next to it that should be ok

The Ministers facebook page has some great footage of it. I was skeptical but congratulations to a job well done.

Was the same Rug but looks the goods and finished in time for the build up out that way, thanks to everyone involved in the project, all the people that have parked my car and walked back to get in the boat in the dark at 400am think its good too!

Not knowing if you we're gonna step on a croc was half the fun!

Call me cynical, but more gumbies will be attracted to Shady now, only the ramp is two lanes wide (not accounting for aforementioned gumbies who will make it one lane), instead of being able to squeeze in three or four.

I'm hoping the sides of the ramp will become launching platforms for those with their sh!t together when flooded in the runoff.

I drove out for a look, the upstream side looks like it will get a bit of water flow from the barrage especially with higher water levels. The upstream sides of the ramp are pretty steep but you could probably launch from this side if the water level is up, the downstream side looks like it could form a great Eddie, and the sides are less steep. It will probably hold fish in the runoff

It looks like the ramp site has been dug out a bit and the silt might build up more around the ramp. There is already a bit of mud at the bottom on the concrete that looks like it will be slippery, hopefully the fast water will clean it up in the runoff.

What I did notice is the ramp is built out and the sides have some height to them. Now when the tide is up there is deeper water each side of the ramp, a good place for a croc to hide and launch from so I don’t feel like the new ramp makes it safer from crocs, the risk like everywhere else in the top end will still be there.

I hope they put a few large rocks at the end of the ramp just to keep us on our toes and make it seem like nothing has changed. It would be awful to just back the boat in and not hit turtle rock

Well, I was a skeptic, but that photo from Theo has me somewhat humbled. I think they should get rid of the big rocks, replace them with some fist sized stones if something is needed on the left hand side to mitigate erosion.
