G'day guys and girls,
My mad Italian mate is dragging his 5.8m V noble centre cab all the way from Mildura to the Top End for a spot of fishing arriving 24 Apr 07. He is wanting to fish the Tiwi Islands for about a week before hitting the Finniss, Daly, and Mary river mouths.
As I have never had the privelige of fishing the Tiwis before I respectfully seek advice on beach camping, fuel and water resupplies, places to target for both Barra and reef fishing and those places that are out of bounds for cultural reasons.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

DNO.... best advise is to have a look at BackCast's spot of the day.... or the worldfishing map... the info on there is as good as it gets
As for places to camp on the beach.... you will need to get a permit through AFANT and that will list the locations that you are allowed to camp.
There office number is 08 89456455 or have a look at thier web site.

G'day 2rods, flicker and dodgyone,
Thanks for the advice especially the AFANT details.
Dodgyone: please excuse my ignorance, where and what are the Flattop details.
Flicker: Jim is a mate that I met down on the Daly 3 years ago. He is grape grower for the wine industry and loves his fishing. This will be 4 years in a row he has made the trip North, unfortunately TC Monica messed with his plans last year and he went home early.
2rods: thanks mate I have just checed out backcast's information on the worldfishing map. The man certainly has got some great stuff on there

flattop
Flat top is a big bank around 130 kms off Dundee. Doesnt see alot of pressure so fishes very well IF YOU GET THE RIGHT BIT. We have some better directions than last time so will hopefully get right into the big Trout, Reds etc.. Is a long trip. We are doing an overnighter Mon 30th April.
Jordan. You havnt savoured the real NT fishing experience until you have battled with 15kg whiskered barra in 50m of water.

Don't wanna be a flat water hero.
