Seems like the world has stopped.
Everybody sitting around waiting for something to happen.
What's happening?

Yes, is odd. Lots of page views compared with actual posts.
Not that I can throw stones. Haven't cast a line for a while.

Re: What's happening?
I did the other day.
Got 3 barra in the local Yeppen Lagoon. 70cm 76cm and 78cm. All previously tagged in March 2015.
These buggers have grown 550 mm in about the same number of days. 1mm per day. They're in a good paddock.
Yeppen is the first lagoon on the LHS as you come into Rocky from the south.
Rumour has it that it has a hole 20ft/6m deep in it. Used to be the water supply for Rocky many years ago.
Had the boat and trying out the new Motorguide for a forthcoming trip.
Rumour is not right.
Hole is 11.5 metres/ 38 ft. !!

Re: What's happening?
Took the family down the Daly over the weekend.
Only fished a few hours at a time as the kids get restless after a while.
We got 5 from 8 in the 50's cm range. Kept the kids happy and occupied.

Re: What's happening?
I have been juggling between windy weather, work and stuff breaking on the boat.
Did manage to hit the Elizabeth during the last springs and got a little barra about 47cm.
Lost a couple bigger ones.

Re: What's happening?
Had a young bloke with me at Yeppen.
He'd been catching a few from the bank next to a snag in 4+m of water.
Basically deep water jigging. We did absolutely no good in 2 hours despite his confidence and my lack of it.
So I took him shallow water barra fishing up at the shallow end of the lagoon. A underwater point coming out at right angles to the bank @ 1.5m of water with drop-offs into 3m either side.
Simply used 100mm dropbear squidgies retrieved at medium speed out of the 3m up across the shallower point where they got hit.
Got the 3 I mentioned plus jumped 2 more off plus 5 good smacks which didn't hook up.
Good day but forgot the r/c for the M/Guide so will have to re-do the battery tests.
Bought a 120 AH AGM deep cycle for $221 delivered to my door from a Sunshine Coast battery/solar place.
Had been trying out my old car crank battery of about 80ah equivalent when new. Lasted 4.5 hours in wind so it did better than I expected despite it being 2nd hand wrong type.
This one should do the job betterer.
Long days where I'm going so battery needs to do 8 hrs min per day with recharging o/night. Hope its not too windy.
