its the worst policy and price around..
Isnt TIO owned by Allianz insurance? Its my understanding that if you take out boat insurance with Allianz its actually done with Club marine insurance....

Payed out whenever I've had any dramas. I'm pretty sure we are getting a discount because we have our home insurance with them too.Hemi wrote:Fair bump... Play on...

Think lock or chain applies to tinny with smaller motor that is not fitted. Bolted on should be ok

Yeah Standy, that's what you would think but the wording says "outboard motor". Have to get through my gate, into my shed and then cut off the coupling lock before they can steal mine

Re: Best Boat Insurance Company
Been chasing insurance for a couple of weeks. Ended up going with TIO. Turns out that both TIO and Club Marine both use Allianz as the underwriters.
they did try to impose a 40km limit on me but when i asked to extend the limit to Aussie territorial waters like all others , no problems - added it as an endorsement in a flash.
cheaper as well
Still reading the PDS to make sure there are no little hidden exclusions that i dont like

Re: Best Boat Insurance Company
Hey - I just got a quote from Club Marine for my soon to be delivered boat and it was $800 less than GIO. WOW!
They also offer much better coverage with respect to equipment on the boat. They cover $1500 per item (sounder, trolling motor, fishing gear, etc) up to a total of $10,000. GIO just $500 per item.
So don't assume Club Marine will be more expensive.
