Boaters,
Looking at a 5.99 frontier Polycraft, just a question for any poly owners.
The side wall appears to have a slight wave in it from stern to bow is this normal? It kind of looks like 2 indents really!

Yeah its normal for them to warp slightly (not correct terminology but you know what i mean) But only slightly.. !
We have two 5.99 frontiers and they have very slight waves..
One or two others areas it looks slightly weird is right on the bow and around the rear pods..
Great boats!!! Weve used them as work boats, put them through their paces and they kick ass..
Brilliantly stable boats, weve had 6 blokes diving out of them, really perform well.
Weve done things with them that would have either dented or cracked an ally boat and would have smashed a glass boat.. The poly just shook it off without a scratch.., Polys are tuff good boats, they are heavy but good!

Thanks Hemi, exactly what i was hoping!
Just looking like it will be the perfect boat for remote trips towing down dirt roads with concerns about the hull split, and plenty of room at the bow to store dive gear as well.
Thanks

We sold one of our polys to CDU marine section, they use it for teaching coxswain courses in remote ares etc..
That boat gets towed all over the topend with no dramas..
What's on the one your looking at..????
We had 175hp Suzukis on ours.... Goes great.!!!

Iv seen that red one, looks the goods with custom consoles up the front, thats what got me looking at them!
One im looking at has a 175 suzuki on the back, havent taken it for a test run yet, the minster of finance likes it more the 5m plate boat i was keen on. So will be taking it out soon!
What type or speed and distancd per a ltr you get out of yours?

Re: Polycraft help???
Hey Sweaty,
I have a 5.99 centre console and yes the wavey sides is normal! I bought mine 2nd hand from the Gold Coast years ago and I have towed it all over the place....Coburg....Channel Pt..lots of places. Mine has a 135 Honda on the arse so it is no race boat but I can't fault it....if I had the choice I would have gone for the 175 Susi. They are good boats....are they the best...no not at all....but in terms of value for money they are right up there I believe. Biggest draw back is the weight when towing but the weight comes from the hulls being double skinned...so basically you have 2 hulls in 1 boat. Everything is a compromise and you have to decide what compromise you can live with.....for me I would have loved a 6mtr Stabi, but I got the 6mtr poly with only 60 hrs on it delivered to Darwin with a custom made heavy duty trailer for less than half the price of a new stabi......so if the price is right and the motor is good go for it.

Sounds good Jeno,
Everything I read and everyone I have spoken to have postitive reviews and reports, might have to get this one down to Quality Marine to get the boat checked over.
