headlight HID upgrade kits?

Post by Niglet »

Just wondering if anyone has done a HID upgrade on there car?
Are they as good as they say and as easy
Been looking at them on Ebay and see that they start at around the $90-$100 mark
Am thinking of putting them in my 07 hilux
Any info would be great
Cheers Neilo

Watch for Matt Flynn's quarterly magazine. Good light info coming up in it.

You might want to check with MVR they defected my cruiser ones, apparently it wasn't the brightness but the colour???

HID's are illegal in your headlights unless the car comes out standard with them. You can have them in driving lights. I have them in my rallye 4000 driving lights and they are brilliant. The coppers do look for hid's in headlights now as they are becoming so prevalent.

I also know one guy who melted the lens but I think these were not HID inserts

Yes it is true...simply fitting HID lights to your low beam is illegal. MVR has an information bulletin providing information on this issue. sorry to put a damper on your idea http://www.transport.nt.gov.au/__data/a ... /ibv15.pdf
