Family friendly camping ideas?

Post by jonr »

I am looking at taking the family camping for 2 weeks in June. We have an old camper van and young kids so looking for Some where with power. We often stay at douglugs hot springs caravan park and enjoy that style of place - looking for a change of scenery within about 5 hours drive.

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated?

Jon

Either of the two Mary river places ie park or roadhouse. Alternatively cooinda or Edith falls if you can get power ? would about pull it up that's a bit of a problem up here.

You could do Mataranka Jon, you can still cast a line and kids can have a swim. Stay at either the Mataranka Homestead on the southside or Territory Mannor on the north side of town. Travel there in 4 1/2 hours, they both have power and the nights will be cool. There is the National Park that turns off the Mataranka Homestead Road. It has facilities but no power.

We stayed at Corroboree Park tavern one night, not much else to do apart from the pool and the bar... There's also Lake Bennett, there's powered sites there, and Crab Claw but you'd want to be either towing or hiring a boat.

Cooinda is always the easy option.
