Cullen Bay low tide sand bar

Post by Sweaty »

Hi Guys,

Just wondering if anyone knew a bit of information about the low tide sand bars of Cullen Bay and what tide it starts to come out.

I am trying to organise a work bbq and cricket match over there, but to plan it correctly i need to know when there is enough sand on there to get out there and what its like to walk on etc.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers JC (Sweaty) 8)

It stays out of the water for a long time on spring tides, provided you get there on the falling tide.

Saw a 12ft croc just off the seaward side of the sandbar years ago, worth keeping in mind.

Haha cheers for that Matty, might invite a tourist as ball swimming boy lol..

Anyone got an idea when it is low enough to start getting on to it, I wouldn't normally be a pain and ask, but unfortunately my boat is high and dry for the month while my truck gets a new transmission put in..

cheers

Park on the lawn out the front of La Beach and work it out from there. Might even be an opportunity to give the esky a workout.
