Diawa Pluton 200hl (might give shimano a miss)

Post by barra bro »

Hi All, just recently sunk my tinny lost most of my fishing gear, lures, knives and my Chronarch e7 and raider setup so now its time to forget and replace and am looking at a new Calcutta d but I was very let down... compared to the TE I have, and then seen a TD Pluton an got an instant chubb!

so Im thinking TD Pluton H or HL with T-Curve 6-10kg Barra 30lb fins
only $700 from Motackle and I think it suits the job well.
but really wanna hear some feedback about it.
so feel free to tell!

Mate, I love my Daiwa Pluton. THey are a fantastic reel and very well balanced. Way better feel than the calcuttas and they perform. I run 50lb braid as my Daly stump puller. I have it on a St Croix Aussie Edition, excellent set up. Have a look around at the local shops, I bought mine from the Tacklebox, MO prices can't compete with the service that you get from the Tacklebox and Fishing and Outdoor world and generally the prices are the same. I highly recommend the Pluton and I have no shares in Daiwa or tackle stuff, I just like to get what I pay for.

Cheers,

Hey Doors Off, good on ya for giving Frenchy a plug, but he's in Kununarra. Bit far to drive!

Hi there,

It sure is a nice reel.
I nearly bought one a bit over a year ago, but the price kept me off it.

Have a good day,

Haha i sunk it in the mighty Fitzroy River went up a creek that was pumping out and a freak wave got me, water went straight over and filled the boat, it was all over from there.

PS water was too fast for crocs, hung in a tree for an hour til i made my decision and the swam with the current to shore and walked 15k to home (Liveringa Station)

buy the japanese version ryoga out of japan for the same or better price, it's more refined and lighter. All up the Pluton / Ryoga's are not the lightest reels but smooth as and cast a mile.

Dunno about this particular model but I have been using Daiwas for years with absolutely no complaints.

The H is for high speed and the L stands for left hand wind I think Barra bro.
