School Assessment.
Sean had an assessment on Citizenship the other day. He did a good job, only one incorrect answer. What is our eduction system coming to when his teacher marked this answer wrong.

Teachers on drugs marking that wrong. He does have the right to go fishing when ever he chooses. He should have been told that the consequences would vary depending on when he chose to go. IE during school times, work times or free time. A little more could have been taught from it instead of just marking him wrong.

Teacher should be sacked for lying to the kid ,telling him he has rights , Australians have no rights .
No citizens here either , in the Constitution you are regarded as a subject of the Crown , not a citizen .
What they should be teaching is the truth not farking lies.

......A right is an instruction by the navigator to change the direction of the vehicle towards the drivers side (in Australia).

Re: School Assessment.
...but seriously, one line to answer that question?
Where was Sean supposed to explain that rights are benefits bestowed upon members of a social group based on the common values and norms to which they are required to conform...and that these values and hence rights vary between social groups? Obviously, in such a short space, Sean would have to assume that the teacher already was familiar with these concepts and understood that within our particular social context, freedom of movement and access to resources has traditionally been a right and is in fact a very controversial issue at the moment as this right is threatened. With this in mind, Sean has in fact gone straight to the core answer and clearly demonstrated a highly refined understanding of this concept.
The teachers's understanding of this matter however is clearly less than competent as they have failed to recognise a more complex understanding than their own.
...yes, I am a teacher.
