Fenton Patches 29/30 setember

Post by volkoff »

Hey guys heading to the fenton patches sunday arvo and coming back Monday. Any tips and pointers you guys can give me?How much fuel do you think my Suzuki 115hp 4 stroke will use there and back. I have a 80 litre tank under floor and thinking of taking a extra 100 litres just to be safe. I think if i take it easy and cruise on around 50kph that should conserve some fuel. Will be going in my 5.2 meter half cab glass boat. Obviously have to have all saftey equiptment up to scratch and do my pre checks before leaving. How long will it take to get there? What bait and lures should we use. Any advice would be great. Looks like there will be some big tides and good weather.

cheers,
Nick

Went there on saturday in my 4.5 with a 50. Took a bit under an hr but was only doing about 30kmh. I have never done any good there personally just as flogged as the harbour wrecks.

about a 70km round trip, my boat with a 140hp suzuk would use about 25/30ltrs. suggest your 80lts should be plenty. 180ltrs would nearly get you half way to timor.
how long depends more on the chop/swell than anything else.
as far as catching stuff out there I've always found it a bit hit and miss, a lot of the smaller wrecks are basically totally disappeared.

Work off the wrecks a bit and sound out any lumps you may find
This is always more productive for me
