stuarts tree fishing camp

Post by carree »

Hi Everyone,
This is my first post, shame its under Trips Gone Wrong Reports but.... after a lot of planning and booking and people coming from all over the country to have a go at fishing Wild Man River and Finke Bay via Stuarts Tree Fishing Camp we arrived after the 2 hour drive to find the gates locked and no one within cooee of the place very
Had to divert to Stuart Point Lodge (nice place). Missed the tide the first day so had to fish the fresh, one fella caught a couple of under sized Barra, but a good day out on the water.
Had a go at Shady Camp salt water but no luck so headed out to the Jew Holes. Lots of shark and Powertail caught and one thumping Jewie 120cms :applause: :applause:
So trip was a success no thanks to the folks at Stuarts Tree Fishing Camp

Pretty sure it's been closed for a year or two now? Pity, saves bashing your way round Point Stuart if you fishing any of the systems to the East.

Friend of mine stayed there last week for 4 nights plenty of jewfish.
Have stayed there a few years ago excellent accommodation but bugs can be a bit friendly.
Need to book .

G - LOOMIS and tangles, we did a dry run out there to check the place out a couple of months ago and were impressed so we called and booked 2 weeks before our visit (couple of dongas). So were very surprised and disappointed to arrive to locked gates. Trip turned out ok in the end.
