DALY HELP

Post by ChrisK7 »

Looking at goin to the daly on the 27,28 & 29th of this month. Never been :? . Just looking for general knowledge of the area (launch tips n things like that) and fishing (how to fish it on springs which i think it will be, tide difference from darwin harbour etc etc) any and all info will be appreciated.
Incase it matters we want to try some night time fishing which i havent done before, live baiting which i have done but dont know where to go to throw the net down there. Any and all info will be greatly appreciated as this will be one of my last nt fishing trips for over a year  Thanks in advance :)

My tip. Don't go. Just spent all Sunday there for 0. Went all the way down stream and didn't see a thing. No water anywhere. I wouldn't bother without heaps of rain happening right now.

Yea my mates just got back and got zip for all weekend. But due to work (to hard to explain) it will have to be the daly. Thanks though.
Also if anyone knows how long it takes to get to the mouth it would be great :)

My bit of advice is make your decision if you go or not a few days before hand. A lot can happen between now and then. It could be a rising raging torrent. Take insect repellent, thermo cells (plural) and mozzie netting if you do go

Hopfully (for the rest of us) you won't be able to go because it will be flogging with rain. The Daly can be a cruel mistress but can also be very rewarding. It can take many trips in her many moods to work her out (even then she'll still occasionally kick you in the nuts). As can be seen by the lack of forthcoming information those who have spent the time, been kicked in the nuts on occasions and have gained some inlightenment hold their cards close to their chest. One well known rule of thumb is ... if the river is rising give it a miss. If its falling don't miss it.

Have a look at the numbers in the last column. 12/02
At midnight 0-1hr the level was 2.402
now go down the column and you see its 2.403 - thats only a milimetre.

Ive just seen this *..Unverified Telemetry Data use with caution
so when you look at the whole week, there is no difference
that cant be right

Theres a graph on this http://www.nt.gov.au/nreta/naturalresou ... d=g8140003
that ive used for a while . it shows a small difference.

I dont think its working?
