Selling rifles shotgun etc.

Post by upnorth73 »

What is the easiest way to sell a gun these days. Looking at selling a sporterised Lee Enfield, a .177 Diana air rifle (1000fps) and a Stephens 16ga S/S shotgun (1913).
Is it easiest just to put on consignment with Tex or any gun shop, or put an add up somewhere?
Cheers, Adam...

Hey mate

easiest way is via usedguns.com.au or advertise somewhere like here. Whoever wants it gets a purchase permit. Once they got that, you fill in the disposal notice on your rego papers (or get one at the cop shop) and give them the shooter. Easy as!

You need a registered firearms dealer to "broker" the sale/purchase, you'll find yourself a world of hurt otherwise.

Usedguns is the go, i've used FOW in the past to transfer rifles. Grant is good to deal with.

I'll back up BenH's advice on Grant at FOW, had a few firearms go through him, the main point is he keeps you in the loop and actually puts an effort in, like most of the troops at FOW I suppose.

Alright, going to put these on consignment soon unless I can sell them private. Happy to go to police station and get paperwork happening with prospective buyer.
Asking $200 for the 303, has about 150 rounds with it plus a spare magazine and a scope mount.
$150 for the air rifle. And $50 for the 16gauge shotty (collectors item).
PM me if interested.
Cheers, Adam.
