Re: Any guess?
Geez It seems I started something by mentioning those coke lures!!
Nice little collection you have going there Pecheur. I've got a couple with logo's on somewhere and a few scurvy dog (balls) lures as well I'll dig them out and take a few pics when I get time

Re: Any guess?
During a recent low tide trip to larrakeyah my missus decided to go for a walk around the rocks a low tide and came across this, i dont know very much about it.
any one have an idea?
Im only young and i have grown up with plastic lures my whole life.
this one is wood, most of its paint is gone except for the head, which is sort of a creamy colour on the bottom which turns into a very dark shiny green up top to deep black
im certain the hooks have been changed, as they look extremely oversized, and only has about 60pd mono attached to it.
looks like its been sitting in the rocks for quite a while, my guess its drifted in from out wide

Hi there,
Ronj,
PM sent to you.
Ajbear,
Yes please post some photos of your lures, it is alway nice to see some lures.
Davey D,
This popper could have been used from the shore you know.
I sometimes use some of this size from the shore for Queenfish, they are great fun.
As for the brand, I don't know what it is sorry.
Have a good day,
Pecheur

Re: Any guess?
Hi there,
Just a quick photo done with my phone... My computer is down...
Can you guess what is the lure on the top?
The second one is a Taipan, but in a Quantas variation that I was yet to own, so thanks Door Off for that ! (Yes he his the man who kindly offered me these three lures).
The one at the bottom is a GolburnJack in a colour that they don't make any more, and both have the name on the back: Reidy's !
Reidy's are among my favourite lure to collect, as they are the local guys.
And also because it is some of my favourite ones to fish with. (Not the one that I collect )
But the first one?
Does any one know what it is?
I know, but I am not telling before someone try to guess...
And actually you may know what it is...
And thanks again Doors Off these are a great addition to my collection of Australian lures.
Have a good day,
Pecheur.
P.S: And soon I will show you some other lures, thanks to Rossco, but I may wait for the computer to run smoothly before that.

Re: Any guess?
Hi Pecheur, no idea, but I have also got the Reidy's Qantas Taipan; quite a handy little lure (for me anyway) in rocky/mangrove territory because of the large backwards movement when you stop retrieving - goodness knows I lose enough gear as it is and need every bit of extra help I can get!
Cheers,
Ash

Re: Any guess?
Hi there,
Last week I was very lucky to get offered two new advertising fishing lures, for my little collection.
It was a message from Blinky from this very forum that brought the good news to me, I just had to go and pick them up, easy as that.
Thank you Blinky.
And I was rather happy with that, as both are decorated with the logo of a company that has changed it's name, since these lures were made.
So it will now be very hard to find these ones...
Both are Reidy's lures, the local guys, made in Darwin.
The one in the foreground is a Taipan and dive to a deep of 3,5 m. (11.48294 foot).
The one in the background is the Goulburn Jack and dive to a deep of 5 m. (16.404199 foot).
Both are nicely coloured little Barramundi lures, but none of them is going to swim anymore, at the office they will stay.
Forever dry is the future of these two little guys.
Have a good day,
Pecheur

Hi there Pecheur , I reckon the top green and gold lure is a cotton cordell or a early model bagleys lure .

Re: Any guess?
Hi there,
And here is a new lure for the little collection.
No, I did not catch a tagged Barra, but Itsinmeblood did.
At the Daly, and in a bit less than a year the Barra had grown by 7cm.
I find that very exciting and now want to catch a tagged one too!
Thanks Itsinmeblood.

Hi Manton Mad,
Yes, they are collectible lures.
Which colour is yours?
Put up a photo of it, it would be nice to see it.
Have a good day,
