Lee Point

Post by Scotty »

Went out to Lee point/Angler Reef this morning for a while. Only hooked a couple of small Trickies and Bluebone. Tried to get some Gar but to no avail, they wouldn't take anything that had or resembled a small hook or light line!! Highlight was the suprise visit of a school of long tail tuna that had me tripping over rods and tacklboxes. The only thing I had was a Barra classic +3 (previously casting around the rocks). One had a swipe but didn't hook then they where gone....

Water was pretty murky. Nice to see the wind slow down for a while

Hi Scotty - hit them with a big popper if you have one. We found that metals would get hit but the popers would get hit by big ones. Nothing beats seeing a big tuna sizing up a surface lure before going the chomp.

Have had some great fun at Lee and bottle with the tuna. Hope they are there this weekend as I am out of tuna steaks.
