Car trouble
Flyfished Corroborrie saturday afternoon for a few hours, not much luck, a few tarpon and a couple of Toga hits that didnt connect, decided to have another crack at them in the morning. Went back for a feed at the Tavern and had a great meal as always. Up for breakfast and headed off just after 6am, it was surprisingly cold.
Only got as far as the end of the single lane gravel road works and lost pickup and the dash engine warning light came on, in the X Trail. Oil levels seemed ok and no leaks, decided to head home it was a bit depressing watching all the other boats heading the other way. Anyhow thanks to the lady from the Houseboats for stopping to see if I was ok. Hope everyone else had better luck than me.

Re: Car trouble
Ani ideas on what the problem is?
Fishing in the top end isn't just a matter of life or death, it's much much more serious than that.

Re: Car trouble
Sounds like the ECU or a faulty oil pressure sensor which tricked the ECU to go into limp mode

Re: Car trouble
If you think it was just a glitch disconnect the neg battery terminal for 5mins .... This should reset the ecu and clear any faults....
A handy trick to get you home if need be too.

Re: Car trouble
My daughter changed the battery in her car and when they started it again the stereo had stopped working...an anti theft doohicky which needed the code entered to make it work again...pity they didn't know the code took them a couple of weeks to get it sorted
Might be worth checking your hand book before disconnecting battery leads

Re: Car trouble
Had the same problem a few times myself itsinmeblood, relatively simple to fix, turn up to the service department with the VIN and proof of ownership, they will then give you the code.

Re: Car trouble
Other option is enter the last 4 numbers of the vin number as they often use that as the code.
