I'm hearing about 'rookies' catching 1 meter barra all the time lately and it GIVES ME THE s...ts!!
Maybe i need to erase all the barra catching memories I have and start again so that I can crack this magical mark.....

Mate it will happen trust me. Just leave your mates in the car at the ramp so they can drive home. Cant miss. At least YOUR BOAT has 6 magic fish you cant beat that, you must still get a HUGE thrill to see someone else get their first metery. Yours will probably be 120cm.
