Surprise!

Post by Turtle »

Went for a fish at Shady camp barrage thursday night with Mud.

Rained all night and we caught half a dozen rats and Mud got 1 keeper. I got a bl..dy stinkin powertail too..

Anyway, coming home about 1am, I was driving across adelaide river bridge then in the headlights BAM!

big crocodile about 3.5/4m laying across the road with his mouth open. had to swerve to miss him.

Thought I was seeing things so turned around and went back.

He was slowly waddling off the bridge and Mud tried to get a photo with my crappy camera but we only got 1 dodgy shot.

Mud wanted the pic so I thought id post it up anyway.

Fishing in the top end isn't just a matter of life or death, it's much much more serious than that.

Cheers Turtle
He was fat as!
We blew past it and if there had not been a gap he probably would have rolled us.
Guess its a warning for culvert fishos...being on the bridge doesnt ensure safety.
Last trip out Sarrge and I nearly hit a DONKEY near Anaburru. Time before that I nearly hit a PIG the size of a hippo standing in the middle of the road.
What next? A giraffe?
Its not a crisis unless there is blood around.
If there is blood around......well its a police matter...

As they say (only in the NT).
Fishing is a passion only fishermen understand.
