I caught my first Metre Barra yesterday at the Daly, only just a metre but a Metre all the same 1.03m and the big girl was released. I would love one of those elusive stickers Guys, my address is in my Profile.

Re: New! The Metre Barra Club
Got her a few weeks ago at Shady Camp out at the mouth of Sampan. 111cm, unfortunately the photographer did a less than excellent job so no brag mat photo!!!!. Got her on a Strada Tera 150 in gold trolled at a fair speed at the turn of the low tide. Was with Doley01 (who was going to post the pictures and report but is a bl..dy slack bugga!) and Timmy both off the Forum in my boat. Great day, both the boys got good fish, a good jewie from the reefs for Doley and a barra around 86cm for Timmy.
Cheer

Re: New! The Metre Barra Club
Hello
A selection of metries from the Roper. Only one didn't go back.
See if u can pick the one that isn't a barra. Got 5 of these " not barra" over a metre each on a nights baitfishing. This was biggest. Talk about pull.
Caught mate fudging the brag mat. Claimed a 135cm but he had its mouth open. Upon shutting it, it measured 131.
Also have got the tussle Brad had with the 122cm one on video from go to whoa. It was an old shimano batam reel that he was using. He loved it and wouldn't part with it so I'd changed 2 worn bushes in it made out of saucepan lid knobs 'cos we couldn't get parts.
Haven't got any metries from 2012 on here.
U know, we've gotten about 25 metries in the last few years in this river.
When you consider that we've caught about 5,000 in 6 years, that makes an average of 1 metrie every 200 fish for this river.
We've dropped some. Sure. Wonder how that compares with other rivers.
I'm yet to catch a metre barra on the Roper! The only one who hasn't. I may have 20 or so under my belt from down here but none there. 98.5 this year and 99 last year (both of which I called for metries). Some other bugger has been getting my share.
