A fair few of my lures get the nail polish treatment too, (compliments of a family friend who seems to buy the stuff and then get sick of it so gives it to me for painting lures with) Lures seem to come up not to bad, not as good as an air brush and some decent time but ok for a quick touch up. A coat of clear nail polish seems to protect the paint also.
Just remember if all else fails "try like F##K" !!!!!!!
